| Petersens LTD Jewellers in New Regent Street, Christchurch was established in 1863 by Benjamin Petersens and is New Zealand's oldest jewellery business. After establishing a shop in High Street, Benjamin Petersen sold the business in 1914 and moved back to England, where he set himself up in business as a wholesaler in London. The business was then owned and managed by the Robb family and for 60 years Robb's and Petersen's Jewellers was part of Christchurch Establishment. The business moved to its present address in New Regent Street in 1939. In 1974, Petersens Jewellers was sold to Kevin and Beverley Morrison. In 2003 the business was sold to Morrison’s son, Peter Morrison where he continues the fine tradition of traditional jewellery business. |  |
